Game Day presented by Qualico was an exciting and engaging event for families across the city. On January 11, participants gathered at Sport Manitoba’s facility at 145 Pacific Avenue to explore, get active, and try something new. With over 440 attendees, this free event was a vibrant celebration of sport and community.

Discovering New Sports

Kids had the chance to discover their next favourite activity in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

New sports were introduced this year, including gymnastics, horse council activities, ringette, and water polo, in addition to baseball, basketball, biathlon, cricket, fencing, and more.

One parent shared their thoughts:

“What a great experience it was — our kids (ages 7 & 4) tried out tons of activities, and we learned about several new sporting opportunities available in the city. Great event, raising the profile of many Manitoba sports organizations and getting kids excited about being active. Thanks to your staff and volunteers for putting it together!”

Building Family Memories

Game Day is a unique and fun opportunity to get active as a family, too. One participant reflected, “Great event to help kids see what sports they might like to play. We really enjoyed it as a family.”

A Huge Thank You!

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our dedicated staff and volunteers. Their efforts ensured participants of all ages and abilities felt welcomed and had a positive experience.

It Doesn’t End Here

Game Day is just the start—a spark to inspire kids to join quality sport programs and develop a lifelong love of staying active. It’s a journey that goes beyond one day, fostering a culture of healthy living and community engagement.

As we look ahead to the next Game Day this summer at Assiniboine Park, we’re excited for more opportunities to embrace the spirit of sport, celebrate the joy of discovery, and work together toward a healthier, more active Manitoba.
