Every workplace benefits from some team-building activities to connect with coworkers. It’s a way to get to know each other better outside of work meetings and calls, and to take a necessary pause for our well-being.
Our private custom wellness sessions are the perfect way to take a work break and reap the rewards of physical activity, together.
Private Custom Wellness Sessions
If you’re still working from home, or newly transitioning back to the office, you’re likely eager to interact in new ways with your team.
Our virtual group workouts and wellness sessions can be completely customized to your schedule and fitness preferences.
If public health restrictions allow, we can accommodate in-person sessions, too.
From quiet meditation to intense training, we have a solution to bring your team together.
Hillary Gair, Community Engagement Manager at United Way Winnipeg and the Co-Chair of their Wellness Committee, was looking for a fresh, healthy way to bring her team together this summer.
Over the course of two months, about 30 United Way employees took part in three private, virtual fitness classes with Sport Manitoba Fitness:
- Strength and Conditioning
- Yoga
- Interval
‘A fun end-of-the-week pick-me-up’
Hillary said it was a great way for staff to take the step together to connect and get moving.
“I remember the first [session], there were a couple of people who said they hadn’t been exercising in months. It was their first time getting back into it, and then they did all three sessions. And it just sort of snowballs from there – sometimes you just need that push,” said Hillary.
Mindful of the varying fitness levels of all staff, our instructors incorporated modifications of the exercises into each workout.
“There were always options for somebody that was maybe a little bit of a beginner, intermediate, or advanced,” said Hillary. “It was accessible to folks.”
If you or a coworker feels hesitant to participate, don’t worry!
“Both instructors were amazing, and they really were able to make people feel welcome and comfortable,” said Hillary.
In the end, it’s about having fun, engaging with friends, and experiencing the lasting benefits of exercise.
“It was fun to be moving with your coworkers and doing something different,” said Hillary. “We normally did it on a Thursday or a Friday, so it was sort of an end-of-the-week pick-me-up, a fun activity to do. And everybody felt good afterward because they had been exercising.”
After the sessions, Hillary and her team captured the memory in a photo.
“We took a selfie at the end and we sent it out afterwards, saying it was great to move with each other,” said Hillary.
