How long have you been coaching this sport?
Since 2016
Why did you become a coach?
Give back to my community and the sport of lacrosse.
What is your coaching philosophy?
My coaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that sports should be fun, educational, and memorable. I strive to create an environment where athletes not only grow as players but also develop into better human beings. While I prioritize equal opportunity for every athlete to succeed, I believe in balancing that with the realities of competition, where effort and commitment determine opportunities on the court.
What are your personal coaching goals beyond the Canada Games?
To coach or be on the supporting staff for the Haudenosaunee Nationals.
What has been your biggest accomplishment as a coach?
“2023 Male Recipient of the National Indigenous Coaching Award.
2022 A – Side Bronze at the Canadian Box Lacrosse U14 Nationals. “
What do you prioritize in your teams training program?
“Fun and Engagement: Make sure training sessions are enjoyable and engaging, encouraging athletes to look forward to practice. Fun drills and creative exercises can keep the energy high.
Skill Development and Learning: Focus on continuous learning and skill development. Build practices around progressive drills that enhance both individual and team skills.
Character Building: Incorporate activities that promote teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship. Highlight how lessons learned in sports can be applied to life off the court.
Opportunities for Growth: Offer equal opportunities for athletes to demonstrate their abilities, especially in practice. Make it clear that commitment, effort, and improvement are rewarded in a competitive setting.
Fitness and Conditioning: Ensure that athletes are physically prepared for competition with a strong emphasis on conditioning, injury prevention, and recovery.”

Who is your favourite professional athlete and why?
Jordin Tootoo because he was resilient and trailblazed for so many young Indigenous athletes.
Tyndall’s remarkable coaching journey also earned him well-deserved recognition as a National Indigenous Coaching Awards Recipient by the Aboriginal Sport Circle.
