The Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame has learned that Art Werier passed away on August 21, 2020 at the age of 82.
Our only inducted member to date from the sport of Table Tennis, Werier was inducted in 2013 as an Athlete/Builder in the sport he dedicated his life towards.
In addition to decades devoted to his chosen sport, Werier was a former Chair of the Manitoba Sports Federation (predecessor to Sport Manitoba) and a huge Blue Bomber fan and long-time CFL season ticket holder.
Our condolences to his family and to the Table Tennis community in general.
