The Manitoba sport scene lost a lifelong builder of athletics and physical fitness when Jim Daly passed away on May 15, 2019.
Inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 1994 as a builder, Daly was the driving force for the 1967 Pan Am Games held in Winnipeg and a legend at the University of Manitoba in track & field circles. The university named a fieldhouse in his honour and he was also a coach, mentor, administrator and volunteer into his 90s.
Thanks to Athletics Manitoba for letting us know of his passing. See their website for their tribute to him.
