Here’s a glimpse into their inspiring coaching philosophies and the remarkable individuals who support them.

Megan Bradshaw: Cultivating Focus and Team Unity

With 24 years of coaching experience, Megan Bradshaw is no stranger to the demands of competitive volleyball. Having started her journey in high school, Bradshaw’s transition from player to coach has been marked by a steadfast commitment to excellence. Her approach to coaching the female team for the 2025 Canada Summer Games is rooted in a clear, forward-focused mindset.

“I always try to keep the team moving forward, focusing on the next point or match,” Bradshaw explains.

“We don’t dwell on past successes or failures. Instead, we concentrate on what’s next and how we can improve as a unit.”

Bradshaw’s leadership shines through her strategy of balancing individual development with team cohesion. Managing a large roster of 28 athletes this summer, she emphasized the importance of addressing each player’s needs while maintaining a collective focus.

“Volleyball requires every player to contribute in their unique way. We work individually with athletes, but always bring it back to team synergy,” she says.

A Team of Support

Bradshaw’s dedication to her team extends beyond the court. She highlights her exceptional assistant coaches, Tim Au and Madison Fyvie, as integral to the team’s success.

“We’ve assembled a phenomenal coaching staff, each bringing valuable experience and unique skills. Together, we strive to support our athletes in every way possible,” she adds.

Lindsey Habib: Fostering Mental Resilience and Team Identity

Lindsey Habib’s journey into volleyball coaching began in his school years, but his passion for the sport truly ignited through club volleyball.

Now, as he prepares to lead the male team in St. John’s, his approach is defined by a blend of strategic acumen and a profound commitment to mental training.

“I fell in love with volleyball early on, and I always knew I wanted to be a coach,” Habib reflects.

“The strategy and leadership aspects of the game resonate deeply with me, and I aim to pass that passion onto my players.”

Coaching Philosophy

Habib’s coaching philosophy emphasizes mental resilience and team identity.

“We focus on mental training, which includes understanding body reactions and studying high-level athletes. It’s about helping players manage their personal struggles while fostering a sense of team unity,” he explains.

His approach is rooted in his own experiences with influential coaches like Colin McDonald and Tim Au, who were instrumental in the mental training techniques he learned. Habib says it’s about growing together as a team while recognizing each player’s unique contribution.

Both coaches are enthusiastic about the upcoming Games and the opportunities they present. Bradshaw and Habib’s dedication to their teams and their innovative coaching methods are sure to make a significant impact.
