How long have you been coaching this sport?

40 years

 

Why did you become a coach?

I love the sport of wrestling.

 

What is your coaching philosophy?

Coach and educate young athletes that nothing is impossible if you put in hard work and dedication.

 

What are your personal coaching goals beyond the Canada Games?

Stay coaching as long as possible and mentor new and young coaches.

 

What has been your biggest accomplishment as a coach?

Coaching athletes who become Pan Am champions and medaled at the world championship. Also coached numerous National Champions and the Canadian National Wrestling team at the Pan Am Games in Winnipeg in 1999 and Greck Roman Olympics. 

 

What do you prioritize in your team’s training program?

Condition, technique, and mental preparation.

 

What do you value most in a Canada Games athlete?

Dedication and strong willpower.

 

Any advice for Team Toba athletes?

Work hard, do not quit, and focus on your game.

 

What are you most looking forward to for the 2025 Games?

Enjoying the moment, making friends, and having a positive experience.
