Tune-up your skills for school season tryouts

Take your game to the next level with the only pre-season volleyball camp of its kind. If you plan on trying out for your school team this fall, this camp is for you. 

Our program features on-court training and volleyball-specific strength and conditioning in our state-of-the-art performance centre.

No previous strength and conditioning experience is required. Our expert coaches will teach you how to do things the right way to safely become stronger and more powerful. We aim to have you jump higher, hit harder, move quicker, and be your best for school tryouts. This is the next level of volleyball training.

Performance Volleyball is scheduled for August 19 – 30, 2024, and costs $249 for the two-week camp (tax included). The detailed schedule is at the bottom of the page. 

Strength and Athletic Performance Sessions

All age groups include sessions at Sport Manitoba Performance. The group’s focus will be on getting faster, stronger and more explosive. That will include working on maximizing your footwork through your approach, learning how to change direction effectively. Both those skills will help with jumping higher and moving quicker to get more balls up!

Camp Highlights

Each week we will take on a different skill and will move from basic to advanced throughout the week. Then, as each week goes by we will build on skills from the previous week until we are playing full games in the last week.

  • Week 1This week, we will cover a mix of attacking, blocking, defence and attacking in transition. Volleyball is primarily played in transition offenses and is something all volleyball athletes should work on. We’ll teach athletes different ways to score so they have more tools in the bag going into the volleyball season besides just swinging as hard as they can. You want to play like a pro before becoming one. So, we encourage our athletes to be smart blockers and attackers.
  • Week 2Last but not least, we will run some wash drills and scrimmage one another while trying to implement all the skills we have learned.
