Christine and Jean-Louis are two of Dauphin’s most dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers, embodying the spirit that makes the Manitoba Summer Games so special. As active Rotarians, their passion for service shines through in everything they do, whether it’s helping set up Games cycling events, managing access control, or assisting with medal presentations and the triathlon.
Christine is thrilled to be a part of the Games, noting, “One of the things I love about Dauphin is our community’s capacity to show up when it counts. We knew the Summer Games would be another “all hands on deck” event, and I’m incredibly proud to join hundreds of fellow citizens in welcoming the province to our thriving small city.”
For Christine, volunteering is about more than just giving back – it’s about building relationships and making Dauphin stronger for the future. Jean-Louis echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the honour of showcasing Dauphin’s fantastic facilities to athletes and visitors. “Volunteering is bred into my bones,” Jean-Louis says. “In a small community, we build together. When a friend has a great idea, you get behind them. When you have a great idea, they support you. That’s how we get things done.” Thanks to the dedication of volunteers like Christine and Jean-Louis, the 2024 Manitoba Summer Games are set to be a golden success.
