Help the World Police and Fire Games welcome more than 8,500 athletes to Winnipeg this summer from July 28 – August 6 to compete in the 2023 World Police and Fire Games

The Games consist of 63 sporting events at 40+ venues in and outside of Winnipeg. Not only is this an opportunity for local and international first responders to compete, show off their skills, and make connections, but you could do the same!

Local organizers are searching for 3,000 volunteers (called Finish Liners) to help them travel from the ‘front line to the finish line’ and make these Games a huge success.

As a Finish Liner, you can give back to your community, build your resume, network, and meet people from around the world. You will also receive a volunteer uniform, in-person and online training materials, and volunteer hospitality during shifts.

Given the size of the event, there truly is a position for everyone. Types of volunteers include:

  • Accreditation volunteer;
  • Main results personnel;
  • Workforce volunteer;
  • Fit-out volunteer;
  • Administrative support volunteer;
  • Logistics / Warehouse volunteer;
  • Merchandise booth volunteer;
  • Athletes Village ambassador / Greeter volunteer;
  • IT support volunteer;
  • Ceremonies assistant volunteer; or
  • Special projects volunteer.

Becoming a Finish Liner is easy. All you have to do is be 16+ years old, consent to a criminal record check, and commit to a minimum of four shifts. And, at the end of the Games, you can celebrate your success and that of the Games at the volunteer appreciation party!
